WHO WE ARE: The 889093 Rural Initiative is a comprehensive endeavor dedicated to empowering rural communities in southwest Mississippi. We provide a wide range of resources aimed at strengthening community bonds and enhancing the well-being of residents.

Our initiatives include safe and enjoyable recreational activities, educational programs that raise awareness among at-risk youth, and a strong emphasis on promoting non-violence through conflict resolution education.

Goal 1: Develop Social Skills by Building Positive Values and Character

• Decrease or eliminate delinquent behaviors

• Develop responsibility and respect for others

• Desire to contribute to one’s own community

• Develop leadership abilities

Goal 2: Improve Educational Achievement and Career Goals

• Develop self-discipline and student habits

• Provide ACT Workshops and College Readiness Seminars

• Provide GED attainment

• Provide social media and Technology Skills

• Military insight

Goal 3: Develop a Healthy Lifestyle

• Prevent youth from participating in gang activity, criminal activity, and other juvenile behaviors

• Create vigorous physical activities daily

• Increase knowledge about healthy and nutritional choices

• Bring awareness of the dangers of smoking, alcohol, and drug use
